Week 20 20th-26th

Vanuatu

The next day I was ill. Mummy, Mike, Campbell and Daisy went to the village. While they were gone Daddy went swimming with the Manta Ray.

When they got back we had a sail over to Espirito Santo. When we arrived we anchored opposite the main harbour in the protection of a small island with a small hotel on it. Later on Mummy, Mike, Campbell and Daisy went to the hotel for supper while Daddy looked after me on the boat.

The next day I was feeling better and we all went for breakfast in town at a café. After breakfast we got a hire car and Daddy, Mummy, Daisy and I had a look around the island. The island has a bit of tarmac road around the town but apart from that its all dirt track. It is a beautiful island and has a lot of pasture land for the cows which all look healthy.

We took the road up to a blue hole which is where fresh water escapes from the limestone so the water is very clear and blue. It was beautiful and we had a nice refreshing swim.

On the way back to town I saw a Kingfisher perched on one of the wires fencing of the pasture land. After we had got back to the boat we all had a nice supper at the hotel, and Mike and Mrs Nesbitt had some local raw cow.

The next day we all went ashore and Mike went of to do a dive on the wreck while Mrs Nesbitt did his first half day for his P.A.D.I. diving course. While they did some diving Daddy, Mummy, Daisy and I went for breakfast at the café. After breakfast Daddy, Mummy, Daisy and I went in the hire car up through the island to Champagne Beach which was lovely and had lovely sand and there was nobody there.

After the beach we went back to a restaurant and had a drink.

After our drink we went to a second blue hole which looked nicer from above but the first one was nicer to swim in.

When we got back to town we took the tender back to the boat where we had some lunch. Later on we went to supper at the hotel and then went to bed on the boat.

Tomorrow we shall be flying to Sydney in Australia for a few days then onto Bangkok in Thailand on our way back home to England. I will not be able to make any more updates until after we are home.
